The Macau Institute of Professional Mediators is an independently operated non-profit making organisation. Since its establishment in 2021, it has been committed to promoting mediation as an efficient alternative dispute resolution mechanism. The Institute works closely with its Hong Kong Head Office - Institute of Mediators - to actively support public and private organisations, carry out education and publicity work, and enhance society’s awareness and acceptance of mediation.

The Institute adheres to its mission and works hand in hand with enterprises of varying scales, industry associations, educational institutions, as well as local and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area government departments to advocate mediation as the preferred way to resolve disputes and to encourage all sectors of society to prioritise mediation over resorting to cumbersome legal procedures.

In addition to providing professional mediation services, the Institute also attaches great importance to cultivating professional talents. It is dedicated to cultivating top-tier professional mediators for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through diverse mediation training programs and rigorous, independent assessment mechanisms. By addressing societal needs, serving the public, and contributing to the harmonious development of the region, the Institute continues to play a vital role in advancing the practice of mediation.
