The President, Mr. Chan Shui Hung and Vice-President Dr. Alex Lau of the Institute of Mediators led a delegation from the Macau Institute of Professional Mediators — comprising management team members Christine Lee, Frances Chan, Elton Chau and mediator Milliano Ao on a visit to the Financial Dispute Resolution Center of Guangzhou (GFDR). The team engaged in a round-table dialogue on professional mediation cooperation within the Greater Bay Area with Director Zhang Jing and Deputy Director Zhou Yi-yu of GFDR. Representatives from the Guangzhou Mediation Association, as well as from financial dispute mediation bodies in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Dongguan, were also in attendance.
At the meeting, delegates from Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Dongguan shared an overview of their local mediation initiatives. This was followed by in-depth discussions on topics including professional mediation collaboration across the Greater Bay Area, mutual recognition of mediator qualifications, mediation training programs, academic exchanges, and information sharing, culminating in the achievement of a preliminary consensus on these key areas.
