The 2025 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Mediator Panel was officially announced today. Continuing the Institute’s strong representation from previous years, two of our mediators have successfully completed the accreditation process and have been approved by the GBA Mediation Working Group for inclusion in the 2025 Macao SAR panel. They are listed as No. 175 Mr Kevin Chan and No. 220 Ms Bowie Tam, respectively.
The appointment of our mediators further demonstrates that the mediation courses delivered by the Institute of Professional Mediators in the Macao SAR since 2015 satisfy the qualification requirements set out in Article 6(1) and (2) of the GBA Mediator Accreditation Rules (Macao SAR). These courses have gained recognised standing and credibility in the Macao SAR and across the Greater Bay Area.
At present, there are 66 GBA panel mediators in the Macao SAR, of whom seven are members of our Institute, accounting for 10.6% of the Macao SAR panel.
In addition, the Hetao International Commercial Mediation Center today recognised Dr Alex Lau (Vice-President, Institute of Professional Mediators), Dr Gary Chio (President, Macau Institute of Professional Mediators), and Ms Frances Chan (Council Chair) as Outstanding Mediators of the Center’s inaugural cohort.
